GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Regional Accountant will be responsible for alignment of tasks and their performance to the overall objections pertaining to the accounting department. As well as, ensuring the integrity of accounting records by adherence to policies, procedures and internal controls.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains and manages financial records, accounts and ledgers for multiple entities.
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements preparations.
- Conduct month end and year end closing process for multiple entities.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Responsible for monthly bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Maintain and audit balance sheet schedules.
- Assist with AP/AR processing cycle.
- Provide support to business office associates at communities.
- Assist with year-end audits and tax returns.
- Oversee development projects workflow.
- Reviews job costs for budget variances.
- Runs various reports and performs budget tracking.
- Handles A/P related duties for Development projects (i.e. Code and obtain approval of invoices)
- Submits monthly funding packages to lenders and equity partners.
- Generate weekly/monthly Project Reports as needed.
- Maintain vendor contracts.
- Coordinates with development team for permitting, insurance, bond issuance, etc.
- Provide support for special projects as assigned by management.
- Assist with 1099 processing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Able to work independently and with a team with accuracy
- Sound organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with Multiple Locations a plus
- Must be skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
- Must be skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets and formulas
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred or
- 3-5 years recent accounting experience
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years accounting experience preferred
- Advanced MS Excel skills knowledge
- Yardi experience preferred
- Understanding of US accounting principles
- Strong understanding of internal controls
