Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Store Manager, the Home Furnishings Specialist will maintain expert knowledge of new furniture products in order to provide excellent customer service and close sales.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 0-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid state driver’s license and be insurable by the WRM insurance carrier.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Demonstrates the Mission and Core Values of the Waterfront Rescue Mission (WRM) in all job functions and day to day activities
· Maintains an in depth and ongoing knowledge of home furnishing product lines (e.g. Furnish 123 and Dreamline).
· Collaborates with Store Manager and Marketing Specialist to build and promote sales campaigns through social media and direct advertising.
· Works in partnership with Store Manager to ensure the timing and placement of
· promotion signage is accurate and effective.
· Takes down and changes signs after completion of each promotion.
· Conceptualizes, merchandises, and photographs visually appealing displays to showcase items, create a positive store image, and increase revenue.
· Ensures delivery of excellent customer service.
· Educates customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
· Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
· Closes sales using a consultative approach which advises customers on the range of products available and sells in the best fit for them.
· Maintains sales floor inventory and creates orders for approval.
· Understands and promotes various financing agreements offered through the Mission.
· Some travel may be necessary for training & temporary duty.
· Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other Mission management.
