Job Summary : Under thedirection of the Store Manager, the Home Furnishings Specialist will maintainexpert knowledge of new furniture products in order to provide excellentcustomer service and close sales.Job Qualifications : To performthis job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essentialduty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill,and / or ability required. Must have a validstate driver's license and be insurable by the WRM insurance carrier.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Demonstrates the Mission and Core Values of theWaterfront Rescue Mission (WRM) in all job functions and day to day activities
- Maintains an in depth and ongoing knowledge of home furnishing productlines (e.g. Furnish 123 and Dreamline).
- Collaborates with Store Manager and Marketing Specialist to buildand promote sales campaigns through social media and direct advertising.
- Works in partnership with Store Manager to ensure the timing andplacement of
- promotion signage is accurate and effective.
- Takes down and changes signs after completion of each promotion.
- Conceptualizes, merchandises, and photographs visually appealing displaysto showcase items, create a positive store image, and increase revenue.
- Ensures delivery ofexcellent customer service.
- Educates customers about terminology, features and benefits of productsin order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
- Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling,up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items.
- Closes sales using a consultative approach which advises customerson the range of products available and sells in the best fit for them.
- Maintains sales floor inventory and creates orders for approval.
- Understands and promotes various financing agreements offeredthrough the Mission.
- Some travel may be necessary for training &temporary duty.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other Missionmanagement.
