2nd Shift 1:30pm-9:30pm
Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing building mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance to ensure a safe learning and working environment.
Hiring Specifications:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalency
Certification
- State of Iowa Journeyman Electrician license
- Must have a valid Iowa driver’s license
Experience
- 4 years of electrical experience
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Ability to use and understand VOM, AMP and megger underground locators
- Ability to bend conduits ½ EMT through 4” ridge
- Good problem solving skills
- Knowledge of state and local code requirements
- Knowledge of safe working procedures
- Ability to read work orders and receive oral instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and respectfully with staff, parents and community members regardless of race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnic/national origin, religion, marital status, age, socio-economic status or disability

Job Duties:
- Maintains district electrical equipment.
- Troubleshoots the following:
- Power and light circuits
- Motor controls
- Basic pneumatics and hydraulics
- Kitchen equipment
- 480/277 volt circuits
- Assists with staff office set-up as needed.
- Provides technical support at sporting or auditorium events.
- Takes emergency calls (day or night) as necessary.
- Isolates any faulty device and takes appropriate measures for the continuation of school by repairing the device or obtaining qualified assistance when there is a problem.
- Performs minor electrical repairs such as light switches, ballasts, wall receptacles, etc.
- Performs duties within state and local code requirements.
- Follows safe working procedures.
- Cleans area after work is completed.
- Performs snow removal duties as needed.
- Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC and kitchen equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Twelve-month assignment per Board policy and administrative guidelines. Performance evaluated annually.
