What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Laborer position at Watermark Marine Construction?

We provide seasonal services such as dock and boatlift removal and installation and the full-range of marine construction such as docks, boathouses, breakwaters, and much more. Every day is different, just like New England weather.
Daily tasks include: dock and boat lift install/removal, assisting our carpentry crews with dock projects, island deliveries and transportation and backing-up our barge crews as necessary. We look for a wide range of skills such as: labor, landscaping, welding, mechanical assembly and carpentry and we will train hard-working people who enjoy working outside in all weather. Each day and project is diverse, so if you are the type of person who likes challenges and learning new skills, this job is for you! Familiarity with boating and being in, over, and around the water is helpful, but again, we can train the right person.
- Traveling to and from job sites with crew.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Tending machinery and heavy equipment.
- Perform maintenance checks regularly and report any issues to supervisor
- Taking directions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
- Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.
- Installing wooden structures such as docks, pilings, caps, framing, and decking.
- Selecting lumber by size and strength to suit each job and examining materials to identify any defects.
- Accurately measuring, cutting, and shaping lumber, wood, and other materials.
- Attaching building materials using screws, nuts, and bolts.
- Performing final cleanups of job sites by clearing away all carpentry debris and waste.
- Constructing concrete forms to aid the construction team in installing different dock structures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree in construction is advantageous (Not Required)
- Physical strength and stamina.
- Will need to perform tasks in the water.
- Driver’s License Required.
- Commercial Boaters License Preferred (Not Required)
- Adhere to all safety requirements.
- Attention to detail.
- The ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
