JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the Pump Assembly department and maintains the schedule of pumps and pump accessories while optimizing the on-hand inventory. This is an on-site position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and release parts requisitions and communicate requirements to meet demand from Master Production Schedule (MPS) to Purchasing. Expedite directly with suppliers and machine shop scheduler.
- Answer all action messages and reschedule parts to match current demands.
- Release work orders for subassemblies, kits, Portables, and Hi-Lo Pumps to ensure the correct work is completed according to the dispatch list.
- Analyze safety stock and lot size of subassemblies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Monitor the work center dispatch list and communicate needs to the supervisors.
- Prepare Subassembly Work Center Hour Report for weekly production meetings.
- Communicate with schedulers and management to ensure a timely flow of components.
- Work with various departments to resolve problems with subassembly orders and pick lists.
- Maintain back-order report and work with other departments to meet service parts needs.
- Initiate and participate in special departmental projects that meet company objectives.
- Process Portable and Hi-Lo Pumps quotes from Sales.
- Research and respond to internal inquiries regarding lead times and availability of parts.
- Perform quarterly reviews of top back-ordered items to determine appropriate actions to eliminate future back-order occurrences.
- Print serial plates for allocated parts orders as needed.
- Provide back-up for the department as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE & ABILITIES
- Associates degree preferred.
- 5 years of work experience in production scheduling and planning preferred.
- ASCM certification preferred or willingness to pursue certification.
- Understanding of ERP Systems.
- Ability and willingness to safely go out to the shop floor as necessary.
