Job Summary: Waters Construction Company has an immediate opening for drivers who are Safe, Smart, Positive, Respectful and Adaptable with a valid Class A CDL License. Drivers will operate our manual transmission triaxle dump trucks, hauling materials to and from our projects throughout Ct. This role is also responsible for moving equipment and miscellaneous items on-site, as directed by supervisory staff.
What You’ll Do:
- Operate tri-axle dump truck safely and efficiently on public highways and in off-road situations to deliver Asphalt and aggregate material to and from job sites. The operator will also haul other materials as needed such as rock, soils, mulch, brush, etc.
- Will assist with moving equipment utilizing trailers and the tag along.
- Perform pre-trip inspections
- Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment as well as always keeping it clean and serviceable.
- Report all equipment malfunctions to maintenance staff.
What You’ll Need:
- A Have a current Class A CDL license with an excellent safety driving record. (Tanker endorsement preferred)
- Must have at least Five (5) years’ experience driving triaxles.
- Must have at least One (1) years’ experience moving equipment with either a tag along trailer or a low bed.
- Excellent Communicator.
- Ability to work Night shifts
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to clean and grease own truck.
- Perform daily pre and post trip inspections.
- Keep accurate logs of deliveries and time worked.
- Comply with all OSHA & MSHA regulations and Company Safety and Policy Rules.
- Positive Attitude.
- Should have reliable transportation.
- Understand that this would require you to work Eight (8) to Nine (9) Months of the year with a Three (3) to Four (4) month layoff period.
- This would require the inability to take any summer vacations.
- Must be a team player with a can-do attitude.
- Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time-management skills.
