Applications Support Engineer

As an Applications Engineer you’ll join a team of specialists that are committed to ensuring TA’s world-renowned support for our customers who utilize our analytical instrumentation. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple disciplines including; Sales, Service, Product Management, and Engineering while engaging our customers both pre- and post-sale. Whether you are running samples, teaching training courses, giving technical seminars, or doing other tasks to support our worldwide business you’ll find new and exciting challenges daily.

Responsibilities

• Provide Applications support activities for our thermal analysis product line. This includes our Discovery™ DSC series, TGA series, SA, TMA, and SDT.
• Develop methods, conduct feasibility tests to characterize customer samples, and analyze data to support sales efforts.
• Lead training courses, both lecture based and hands-on at customer sites, for employees and external customers.
• Partner with strategic marketing and product management to identify and create technical content to support growth and strategic initiatives
• Provide technical expertise to customers by email, phone, and in person.
• Maintain applications lab facilities
• Participation in conferences and tradeshows

Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, or related field
  • Masters or Ph.D. preferred. 

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant industrial experience.
• Relevant industrial experience preferred
• Has a solid understanding of thermal analysis and instrumentation.
• Prior experience with TA Instruments software and instrumentation preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel by both air and ground carrier. Both domestically and internationally.(~20%)
