Overview
The Distribution Planner is responsible for fulfilling internal and external customer orders through the planning and ordering of finished goods, the person in this position will work closely with customs to expedite orders when needed. Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, this role works in an environment which requires cross functional collaboration with supply planning, subsidiary partners, and multiple distribution centers as well as an understanding of customs proceedures and logistics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales, Order Servies, Field Services, and planning to proactively identify required materials to meet service and order requirments in Brazil and determine appropriate mode of transport, and service level, for the movement of finished goods.
- Review backlog and shortage reports, communicate to Order Entry what orders are expected to be covered and what orders are expected to be shorted so that allocations can be executed as determined by the regional business
- Coordinate and monitor import processes
- Carry out analysis of import documents, such as invoices, packing lists
- Prepare and update monitoring reports on import processes
Qualifications
- Higher education in Foreign Trade, Administration, logistics or related areas
- Knowledge of import processes and customs legislation specific to Brazil
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in Portuguese and English
- 2 years of relevant order management or distribution planning experience required
- Experience with SAP highly desired
- Strong Problem solving skills
