What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Manager/ Hospital Administrator position at Watertown Animal Hospital?
Practice manager /Hospital Administrator needed for a very busy veterinary practice in Northern New York. We are looking for a friendly, personable manager to help run our practice. We currently have 3 small animal veterinarians and one large animal ambulatory veterinarian, 4 licensed technicians, 5 customer service representatives, and 4 technical assistants/animal caretakers, as well as a bookkeeper, janitor, and remote office assistant. Two of the small animal veterinarians are owner partners. We need someone to help keep our team working together, goal oriented, and running smoothly. Duties would include scheduling, inventory and supplies, marketing, personnel management (including hiring and firing), conflict resolution, budgeting, computer use, customer service, and more. Applicants will need to have strong computer use skills as one of our goals is to go paperless on our practice management software. We are in the process of hiring additional team leaders (CSR, LVT, and support staff) to help with some of the staff management. This is a challenging position as the practice is growing, but, the right person will be able to lead the practice to new levels of success.
Watertown is close to the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, the Adirondacks, and we are only 30 minutes from the Canadian border. It is a great area for outdoor sports enthusiasts as year-round recreation abounds. Hunting, fishing, snow sports, water sports, hiking, camping, and the list goes on. Watertown is a small city with a stable economy due to the nearby Army base at Fort Drum. We are also an easy drive to Syracuse, Albany and Rochester.
Pay will be based on experience and can be hourly or on salary.
