What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening Room Attendant position at Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel?
JOB OVERVIEW
Maintains hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner; assisting both the Housekeeping and Hotel Front Office with delivery of guest special requests, supplies and/or linens.
REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper
JOB HOURS: 5pm-11pm
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.Performs all the functions of a Room Attendant as needed in addition to ensuring the guestroom is clean, attractive, and welcoming upon guest’s return back to the room at the end of their evening.
2.Turndown the bed, change linens if needed, fluff and distribute the pillows, placing our signature chocolate novelty on the duvet.
3.Replenish amenities, add extra towels, ice, turn on TV to a soothing music channel, and draw the curtains close.
4.Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
5.Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for use of cleaning agents.
6.Strip and make beds, changing bed linens, which may require lifting bedspreads weighing a maximum of 40 lbs.
7.Dust all furniture, pictures, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly.
8.Push and pull vacuum and/or swifter throughout entire room and empty trash.
9.Sign for room keys, stock housekeeping cart; visually inspect room for cleanliness and appearance and sign-off completion for room. Report promptly any damage, engineering problems, and safety hazards to management. Perform a quality check on the television, heating/air conditioning and lighting.
10.Participate in accident/loss prevention programs: adhere to health/sanitation and corporate standards, to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Promptly turn in all articles left in guestrooms after checkout and enter them into the lost and found log.
11.Comply with attendance rule and be available for work on a regular basis, in uniform with nametag. Be well informed and prepared regarding hotel facilities and services to assist guests as appropriate.
12.Impress guests with quality and timely service in an efficient and friendly manner.
13.Properly store carts and unused supplies at the end of the shift.
