What are the responsibilities and job description for the Evening Room/Turndown Attendant position at Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel?
POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment throughout the hotel property. This position supports both the Housekeeping and Front Office teams by delivering guest special requests, supplies, and linens as needed.
REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper
SCHEDULE: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform Room Attendant duties as needed, ensuring guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and inviting upon the guest’s return in the evening.
- Provide turndown service, including making the bed, changing linens if necessary, fluffing pillows, and placing the hotel’s signature chocolate on the duvet.
- Replenish guest amenities, supply extra towels, provide ice, turn on the television to a relaxing music channel, and draw the curtains for a cozy atmosphere.
- Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, mirrors, tile, countertops, and floors using appropriate tools and cleaning agents; tasks may require overhead reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Follow all cleaning protocols and proper use instructions for cleaning products and agents.
- Strip and remake beds, including lifting bedspreads weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Dust all surfaces, including furniture, artwork, window ledges, and shelving units.
- Vacuum or sweep the entire room and empty trash receptacles.
- Sign out room keys, stock housekeeping cart, inspect rooms for cleanliness and appearance, and document completed tasks. Immediately report any damages, maintenance issues, or safety hazards. Verify functionality of televisions, HVAC units, and lighting fixtures.
- Participate in safety and loss prevention initiatives, comply with health and sanitation standards, and support guest satisfaction goals. Promptly log and turn in any lost items found in guest rooms.
- Maintain regular attendance, arrive in proper uniform with nametag, and be prepared to provide helpful information about hotel amenities and services.
- Deliver exceptional, timely service to guests in a courteous and professional manner.
- Properly store carts and unused supplies at the end of each shift.
