Watlow is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to play a critical role in our financial operations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This position will be based out of our global headquarters in St. Louis, MO.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Financial Close & Reporting: Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance and growth-oriented culture.
- Process Improvement & Automation: Identify and implement efficiencies in financial operations through automation and system optimizations.
- Business Partnering & Decision Support: Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Systems Implementation & Optimization: Manage accounting systems, including Oracle ERP and Cloud GL, ensuring accurate financial data and reporting.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Audit & Financial Analysis: Prepare financial reports and analysis as needed, manage external audit communications and deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting or FP&A experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling
- Proven experience in process improvement, team leadership, and project management
- CPA certification or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience with Oracle ERP, Cloud GL, and EPM/Hyperion systems
- Background in system implementations and financial systems optimization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Self-motivated with strong analytical capabilities and the ability to manage multiple priorities
