We are looking for a Plant Manager to be responsible for the overall results of a multi-shift manufacturing operation. This is an essential role to the company that achieves operational objectives in the areas of safety, on-time performance, quality, reliability, cost, continuous improvement, employee engagement, and talent management. It also leads and collaborates with various functional groups including Engineering, Planning/Scheduling, Information Systems, Purchasing, and continuous improvement to deliver results. A successful candidate will drive results and manage change through effective leadership and team development, as well as effective planning, organization, implementation, and execution. The Plant Manager reports directly to the VP of Manufacturing.
What you’ll do
Manage the Production Function

Supervise and coordinate production managers and team leads to ensure successful completion of the production schedule

Oversee daily Manufacturing operations to ensure reliability, efficiency and quality
-
Set and lead production goals to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all processes
-
Improve workflows to enhance throughput without compromising safety or quality

Oversee proper operator-level maintenance of production equipment and tools
-
Ensure safe use of equipment and effectiveness of Safety Committee by adjusting processes as needed.

Use and develop ERP data and/or reports as needed concerning scheduling, production goals, equipment and maintenance problems

Review and perform root cause and corrective action investigations in an effective and timely manner

Ensure successful change management as needed to support process improvement and new process implementation
Manage the Production Team

Ensure all employees understand and follow company standard health and safety guidelines
-
Provide evaluation, motivation, support and guidance to all production supervision and employees. This includes approximately 5 direct reports and 100 indirect reports.

Oversee and coach employees, as well as recruit and maintain a motivated team of supervisors and leads

Lead department managers on improvement projects and create culture of accountability

Create schedules for employees to ensure optimum staffing levels

Organize a highly efficient workflow through schedules, responsibilities and adjusting duties as needed to maintain production line balance

Who you are

Someone with a bias for action leading large teams in a highly dynamic environment

Someone with 7 years of supervisory experience in a production facility or similar environment

Someone with proven leadership, communication, and employee relationship building skills

Someone with an in-depth understanding and successful application of the principles of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement or the Toyota Manufacturing System

Someone who can effectively utilize an ERP system as well as standard office automation and communication software
Wage and Compensation
-
This role can expect to earn $125,000 - $160,000 in annual compensation

INSURANCE | All employees and their dependents will have the ability to enroll in medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. If enrolled, benefits begin on the first day of the month following the 60th day of employment at Watson.

RETIREMENT | Watson will match 50% of employees’ 401k contributions, up to 2.5% of base annual salary. All employees over the age of 18 will be automatically enrolled on the first day of the month following 6 months of employment. You can opt out, decrease, or increase contribution at any time.

PAID TIME OFF | Salaried employees do not have a cap on PTO usage. However, we expect a reasonable amount to be a few weeks during your first year of employment.

PAID HOLIDAYS | Watson is closed for 8 holidays every year and offers every employee an additional paid holiday to choose upon employment.

PROFIT SHARING | Profit Sharing is how we reward the effort and commitment of our employees. Generally, 25% of profits are allocated to the Profit Sharing Plan after the baseline profit level is met. The overall profit sharing amount varies from year to year.
