ABOUT THE ROLE
A Bartender is responsible for creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for guests, while preparing and serving beverages in a timely and efficient manner. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to local and state liquor laws. With extensive knowledge of common drinks, cocktails, beers, and wines, you will be in charge of managing drink orders at our hotel.
Essential Duties:
- Be able to greet guests and take drink orders in a friendly/timely manner.
- Be able to prepare and serve a variety of drinks, including cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Be able to use point-of-sale systems to process payments and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines as set by hotel and local authorities.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking.
- Ability to bend, reach, and repeat motions.
- Ability to lift stock up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
Specific Requirements of this role:
- Mix and serve alcohol and non-alcohol drinks for guests following standard recipes and using company standardized proportions.
- Remain knowledgeable about menu and drink specials and make recommendations to guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Serve alcohol beverages responsibility, request identification, and adhere to all company alcohol service policies and procedures.
- Enter drink orders into the POS system, collect payment from guests for drinks served, and make correct change.
- Complete sales and inventory reports accurately.
- Maintain bar stock by ordering or requisitioning liquors, beverages, condiments, and supplies.
- Clean and store bar equipment and bar stock.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Strong knowledge of state and local liquor laws.
- At least 1 year of front-of-house experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant required; hotel experience preferred.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
