As an EHS Specialist, you will ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as the Watts Water EHS management system, for our operations in Blauvelt, NY. Working under the guidance of the EHS Maintenance and Facilities Leader, you will be actively present on the production floor to manage and administer policies, conduct audits, investigate incidents, and deliver training to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.
You Will :
- Provide EHS support in Blauvelt, NY, managing compliance programs in accordance with Federal, State, and County regulations.
- Develop, implement, and oversee EHS training plans (e.g., RCRA, NESHAP, HAZCOM, Lockout / Tagout, Forklift, Crane, PPE).
- Coordinate or conduct environmental monitoring (air, storm water, waste management) and undertake permitting with associated deliverables management.
- Perform safety and environmental risk assessments, inspections, and audits, taking corrective action as needed.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, collaborating with Human Resources on workers' compensation initiatives.
- Maintain EHS files and records to ensure regulatory compliance, interfacing with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Work closely with facility management and the Corporate EHS Department to strengthen EHS policies and standards.
You Have :
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 yearly. Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and / or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include : close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
