What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll & Benefits Specialist position at Waukee Community School District?
Position Criteria:
- High school education or equivalent
- Knowledge of school system structure, policies and procedures preferred or ability to learn quickly
- Iowa School Business Management Academy certification preferred but may obtain after hire
Performance Criteria:
- Sets up new hires and enters employment changes (i.e. transfers, terminations, W-4s, direct deposit) in payroll software.
- Enters miscellaneous payroll for payment
- Time clock system: sets up new hires and enters employment changes, reviews time records.
- Enters employee information into third-party COBRA software for initial notices and qualifying events.
- Insurance billing reconciliation.
- Assists with ACA tracking and reporting
- Updates payroll records, insurance carriers with employee name changes and address changes.
- Calculates and enters leave accruals into payroll system for mid-year hires and transfers.
- Assists with both initial and annual benefits enrollment.
- Acts as a back up to payroll and benefits processes.
- Assists with quarterly IPERS eligibility reports.
Salary : $24 - $25
