What are the responsibilities and job description for the E.P.I.C. Program Parent Facilitator position at Waukegan Community Unit District 60?
- Assist the Program Coordinator in planning and implementing programs and services offered including the development of a parent education curriculum.
- Establish the E.P.I.C. Preschool For All Program as a place that invites participation and partnership through the development of a wide variety of “welcome” activities for parent/families.
- Conduct a variety of programs for parents and children at flexible times of the day to accommodate parent needs.
- Facilitate parent education, playgroups, and family development programs.
- Maintain records for all meeting agenda, facilitators, presenters, and meeting attendance (i.e. parent sign-in sheets).
- Conduct home visits and provide support to parents and their children as directed. Driving to multiple sites with personal vehicle will be required.
- Coordinate resources (i.e. transportation, childcare, etc.) for the purpose of providing the parent an opportunity to become an active participant in school activities / organizations.
- Under the supervision of the Coordinator of PreK Programs and direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning PreK-8 evaluate the effectiveness of program activities periodically and keep current with trends and developments in the field.
- Recommend and arrange for new programs as needed.
- Collaborate with local and state agencies to ensure that parent program offerings do not duplicate services provided to families' partner agencies.
- Maintain needed supplies and equipment for program activities.
- Develop, implement and maintain a parent-child reward program focused on increasing parent participation in child development and preschool educational activities.
- Assist with ordering of parent programming materials and other supplied for the program. prepare reports and assist with the collection and reporting of statistics and data as necessary for the Teaching and Learning Department reports.
- Perform other incidental tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position.
- Perform other professional duties as may be assigned by the Coordinator of PreK Programs.
- Assist with program registration and screening as directed.
- Ability to perform technical tasks;

- Associate's or Bachelor Degree preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required

Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 14,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Parent Facilitator will be directly responsible to the Coordinator of Early Childhood Education, and indirectly to the Director of Teaching and Learning PreK-8. The purpose of the position of E.P.I.C. Program Parent Facilitator is to work with the teachers, administrators, and parents to coordinate and advocate for family involvement to facilitate children’s learning.
