What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraprofessional - Library position at Waukegan Community Unit District 60?
- Prepare reports as requested by the District and Building Administration
- Maintain an inventory of books, computers, equipment, AV materials, and computer software
- Train and supervise student and adult volunteers
- Assist staff with primary level troubleshooting for software, computer, and printer related problems
- Assist students in media center with instructional assessments and computer application usage
- Provide for the organization and circulation of school multi-media center materials
- Assist with loading and proper use of computer software programs by appointment before or after school
- Assist staff with computer and/or AV equipment problems before or after school
- Serve as a liaison between the building staff and District Technology Services
- Assist staff in locating, circulating, and utilizing library materials
- Assist students in locating multi media materials and equipment
- Circulate materials and maintain overdue lists. Notify students, parents, and building principal of the lost and or overdue materials
- Maintains annual inventory of books/resources, weeding and discarding work and unused books, and processing new materials
- Follow procedure developed by district technician for primary level troubleshooting related to equipment malfunctions
- Follow procedure as instructed by district technician for software installation and access/usage
- Maintains working knowledge of software/educational programs
- Complete beginning and end of year activities as established by District and Building Principal
- Maintain professional and cordial atmosphere in media center
- Maintains media center in a neat and orderly condition that is conducive to learning
- All other duties as assigned by Building Principal
- Paraprofessional License or Paraprofessional Approval
