What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Shop Tech Journeyman (ED) position at Waukesha Pearce Industries?
Scope of Work:
Repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the service manager with supervisory duties
- Must be able to work alone on engine/compressor packages or engine/generator packages and be professional on their assignments
- Understands engine electric controls
- Understands engine governing systems including electronic controls
- Can perform all work associated with gas compressor revamp
- Stay informed of the latest changes in the various models of equipment
- Ensure that all jobs are completed and that the work was done in a proficient and safe manner
- Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have 4 year(s) previous experience
- Must have G.E.D. High School Diploma, prefer applied certification (s) job description
- Must meet all of the qualifications of a Service Tech Class A
- Must have advance troubleshooting skills
- Certification in WED VHP technology and VGF technology preferred
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s)
- Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives
- Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
- Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
- Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle
- Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation
- Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
- Must be dependable and able to work independently
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to bend and twist several times a day
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
- Must maintain good client relations
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
- Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight
- Must have the ability to supervise and motivate others
- Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
- Must have the ability to obtain advanced manufacture certifications
- Must protect the company assets and interests
Working Conditions:
- Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Weekend hours as necessary
- Outside work as required
- Customers locations as required
