Position Summary
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for growing revenue associated with AFS shop glazed products (curtainwall, window wall, ribbon wall) through identification of architects, specifiers, prospects, customers, and project opportunities utilizing shop glazed systems.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute a strategic plan to ensure greater penetration and share in assigned territory.
Align shop glazed strategies with regional sales managers, outside sales teams, architectural services teams, and management.
Network Development:
Identify, prospect, qualify, and close partnerships with architects, specifiers, prospects, and customers and build network of stakeholders for successful use of AFS shop glazed products on projects.
Develop strong third-party fabrication network and direct projects when customers do not have fabrication capability.
Work closely with Architectural Services, Regional Sales Managers, and territory sales representatives to ensure AFS is involved in all opportunities utilizing shop glazed products.
Market Development:
Identify opportunities to introduce additional products into our shop glazed product line.
Build relationships with prospective partners through proven market development and cold-calling techniques.
Work with marketing to determine needed market communications to ensure awareness of AFS offerings.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment with company goals and foster teamwork.
Lead efforts to build and sustain productive relationships with architects, specifiers, fabricators, prospects, customers, sales personnel and other stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in large shop glazed project sales and pursuit.
Experience:
5-10 years of commercial sales experience, preferably with architectural fenestration products.
Previous experience with shop glazed products.
Experience in team building and working independently to accomplish objectives.
Skills:
Ability to work independently and obtain results.
Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
Proven track record in cold calling, market development, and closing distribution partnerships.
Strong time management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Proven ability to solve complex problems with a transparent and ethical approach.
Positions Goals
Build a national network of independent distributors for AFS products.
Achieve $50 million revenue growth in shop glazed products over the next three years.
Significantly increase AFS market share in target markets.
Work Conditions
Travel will be required 50% - 70% to different company locations and/or for training purposes.
