What You’ll Do:
As a Public Health Nurse, your role will be vital to improving the health of our community. You will:
- School Nursing: Collaborate with school staff and families to promote childhood health and safety
- Prevent and Control Communicable Diseases: Lead efforts in disease prevention, conduct investigations, and respond to food/waterborne outbreaks.
- Champion Immunization Efforts: Plan, organize, and staff immunization clinics for all age groups. Educate the public and ensure vaccines are administered safely.
- Engage with the Community: Deliver outreach education and prevention programs that empower individuals to make healthy choices.
- Work with Data and Evidence: Use your critical thinking skills to assess needs, create care plans, and evaluate nursing services to ensure the best outcomes.
- Collaborate and Build Relationships: Connect with local agencies, facilitate community partnerships, and actively participate in health committees.
- Prepare for Public Health Emergencies: Be ready to respond to public health threats and contribute to emergency preparedness training.
Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a self-motivated, compassionate, and resourceful nurse who has a passion for public health and the community. To be successful, you’ll need:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin.
- CPR certification and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with access to an insured vehicle.
- Strong knowledge of public health principles, disease prevention, and community resources.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and remain flexible to meet the needs of the community.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Wage: $26.41 - $28.02 per hour, based on relevant experience.
- Benefits Package: Includes healthcare, retirement plans, paid time off, and other county benefits. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process.
