Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant with a welcoming and outgoing personality to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing excellent patient care, and managing administrative tasks efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to show compassion for those struggling with mental health.
Primarily front desk position greeting patients and escorting them to treatment rooms, accepting/stocking deliveries some telephone interactions. Assisting patients with check-in and check-out process. This may include some medical assisting such as testing urine samples (urine dipstick), blood pressure and weight measurements. Experience with administering medication injections (IM/SQ) is a plus. On-job training for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) technician role to fill in for some of the treatments. Light cleaning such as taking out trash and restocking bathroom supplies wiping down and preparing treatment rooms for next patient. Some computer skills are needed for the medical record system (EMR). It is essential to have strong interpersonal skills and a sincere motivation to help those struggling with mental health.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process at the front desk.
- Manage phone systems to answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and handle patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations (HIPAA compliance and PHI).
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures as needed.
- Ensure the medical office is organized and welcoming for patients.
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) technician experience is a plus but on-job training is available.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in office management tasks.
- Familiarity with medical receptionist duties and front desk operations.
- Strong understanding of phone systems and administrative procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Must maintain neat and professional appearance at all times including business casual attire or solid color scrubs.
