About the role
The Estimator will support the complex process of bidding lighting work, from takeoff review to buyout, without missing a detail. The Estimator will partner with a wide array of individuals: clients, manufacturers, rep agencies, and the team internally. The preferred candidate is familiar with architectural drawings and the process of bidding and procurement in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Process incoming bids in an organized manner, reviewing instructions, downloading drawings, and organizing files
- Manage the takeoff process, liaising with the Takeoff team to ensure drawings are accurately and quickly reviewed
- Review architectural drawings and documents produced by the Takeoff team, and develop RFIs as needed
- Interface with the lighting procurement marketplace and create and consolidate RFQs
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure the full scope of the project including controls, inverters, and miscellaneous equipment is captured
- Understand the technical elements of a project and decipher what specification flexibility is allowed in a given scope
- Create proposals for internal and client review

Other qualifications
- Construction industry or adjacent procurement or estimating experience
- Proficient in construction-specific software such as Oasis, Procure, BuildingConnected, etc
- Proficient in Excel, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiar with construction drawings, including blueprints
Job details
- Full time position: $60,000-$70,000 annually plus benefits
- Hybrid position; office in Downtown Brooklyn
