What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN, Supervisor of Clinical Services for Hospice position at Waveny LifeCare Network?
Job Summary:
Assumes responsibility for coordination and management of hospice & palliative care services provided by the Agency to individuals and families, including services delivered by all members of the Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) and functions under the direction of the Hospice Director. The primary responsibilities are management and supervision of the day to day activities of the hospice & palliative care program, including coordination of the IDG. Provides staff education, mentoring and supervision of assigned professional staff. Functions as acting Hospice Director, when required.
Qualifications:
Must meet qualifying criteria for Clinical Supervisor as per State of Connecticut Department of Public Health Regulations Section 19-13 D68(e). In addition to the requirements of Section 19-13-D68(e), an agency providing a hospice program shall employ one qualified full-time registered nurse supervisor of clinical services for each ten or fewer, full-time or full-time equivalent professional direct service staff assigned to the hospice program, who shall manage and supervise the day to day activities of the hospice program, including coordination of the interdisciplinary team. The supervisor of clinical services assigned to the hospice program may also serve as the hospice program director in programs with six or fewer full- time or full-time equivalent professional direct-services staff.
Proficiency in Medicare Conditions of Participation and Department of Public Health regulations for home care and hospice required
Leadership and mentoring experience required
Proficiency in clinical service delivery for end of life care.
High degree of flexibility required
Computer proficiency required
Masters Degree in Nursing and certification in hospice/palliative care or related field with 1 year of experience or BSN with 3 years of experience
