Job Description
Principal Duties:
- Lead contract negotiations, including the development of negotiation strategies for Wawa branded packaging and key store-use supply items to obtain competitive costs while maintaining and/or improving product quality.
- Deliver annual cost savings to re-invest in the business and drive growth and innovation.
- Oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive sourcing plans for all key Packaging & Supplies items and ITPS hardware including RFP processes, multi-year calendar of sourcing events, supplier management, contract management and SLA metrics to identify sourcing opportunities and innovations to reduce costs and increase business benefits.
- Work cross functionally with the Facilities, Foodservice, Fresh Beverage and ITPS teams to identify opportunities for ongoing cost reductions in goods and services while maintaining and/or improving overall quality levels.
- Build the pipeline of events for sustained business benefits.
- Perform financial analysis to quantify cost benefit trade-offs of all sourcing events.
- Manage all cost savings programs in coordination with the Enterprise Productivity team and Internal Audit to validate results versus established goals.
- Lead the continuous improvement of sourcing processes including benchmarking and advanced negotiation strategies and techniques.
- Develop and maintain a network of industry contacts to ensure we are optimizing our vendor relationships and perform onsite vendor visits as needed to ensure compliance to required specifications and quality levels.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the vendor to drive business value.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit to validate actual department savings with reported benefits.
- Provide overall leadership, direction and support for team members and monitor and assess individual work in accordance with high standards of excellence.
- Provide feedback, coaching and support, as well as opportunities for team member development.
- Complete performance appraisals and lead in hiring decisions.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in degree Business, Finance or Accounting preferred; Master’s degree a plus
- Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated purchasing or sourcing experience
- Excellent negotiations skills and strong proficiency in sourcing methods and tools
- Proven vendor management experience
- Direct People leadership experience
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications
