ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Accounts Payable Clerk (Seasonal) will provide essential support to the Accounts Payable department, assisting with a variety of tasks including accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and vendor statement reconciliations. This internship offers an excellent opportunity for a student currently pursuing a degree in business, finance, accounting, or economics to gain hands-on experience in accounting processes and financial operations.
DUTIES INCLUDE
- Assist with accounts receivable, payable, and bank reconciliations.
- Support the annual external audit by tracking down support documentation and assisting with the preparation of audit files.
- Organize department paperwork, files, and assemble necessary documents.
- Prepare invoices and perform data entry of purchases.
- Mail out checks and ensure all supporting documentation is attached.
- Reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors as needed.
- Update and improve various Excel spreadsheets and templates used by the department.
- Maintain department records and ensure proper filing.
- Assist Grower Accounting with grading certificates and matching weight masters.
- Open, sort, and stamp incoming mail.
REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Currently enrolled in a college or university program, with a concentration in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Experience working with spreadsheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office software.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot discrepancies.
LOCATION
- This position will work out of our Alluvial location.

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
- Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
- A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
- Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as equipment, machinery, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently.
- Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, use of computer equipment, scheduling, preparing reports, etc. utilizing a computer.
- Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
- You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
- Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
