Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician / CNC Operator will play a dual role in operating and programming CNC routers as well as maintaining the mechanical and electrical systems within our woodworking production environment. This position requires a strong understanding of CNC operations, machine programming, and hands-on maintenance skills to ensure the continuous, efficient operation of our equipment.
Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure that all equipment operates in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines including air compressors, baghouses, lathes, printers, CNC routers, planers, wood choppers, rip saws, hydraulic paper cutters.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and repair or replace defective parts working with OEMs where necessary.
Work with ownership to develop preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
Work closely with the team to resolve production-related machine malfunctions quickly and efficiently.
Communicate openly and effectively with operators and supervisors to identify efficiency improvement opportunities and develop plans to execute.
CNC Operations & Programming:
Program and operate CNC routers to produce custom wooden products with precision and accuracy.
Set up and calibrate CNC equipment according to job specifications and technical drawings.
Lead tooling design and optimization efforts for new products.
Monitor machine operations, identify deviations, and adjust settings as needed.
Perform quality checks to ensure the product meets company standards and specifications.
Strong communication skills and follow through with a drive for 100% customer satisfaction.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with company ownership, supervisors, and operators to improve business and operational results.
Communicate effectively with team members to resolve any operational or technical issues.
Excellent follow through with a proven track record.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience in CNC operation and programming, particularly with CNC routers.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
