WHAT YOULL DO:
- Code and reviewdermatology, plastic surgery, and wound care claims with precision, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and maximum reimbursement.
- Stay ahead of regulatory changesby researching Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and other payer policies to guide coding strategies.
- Analyze documentationto assign appropriate CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, ensuring claims reflect services rendered.
- Collaborate with providers and internal teamsto clarify documentation, answer coding-related questions, and optimize workflows.
- Identify trends and potential risksin coding and billing practices, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Assist with audits and appealsby reviewing denials, providing coding justifications, and submitting supporting documentation.

SKILLS YOULL NEED:
- Proficiency in coding Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, and Wound Care services.
- Strong working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Familiarity with Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs) and National Coverage Determinations (NCDs).
- Excellent research skillsto navigate payer policies and coding regulations.
- Ability to effectively communicate coding rationalesto providers, billers, and insurance companies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsto assess denials and develop appeal strategies.
- Comfort with technologywe live in a digital world and need people who can navigate electronic medical records and billing platforms with ease.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years of medical coding experiencein Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, or Wound Care.
- Current coding certificationrequired (CPC, CCS, or equivalent). Preference given toCPCD (Certified Professional Coder in Dermatology).
- Experience working withoutpatient claimsandE/M coding.
- Prior experience handlingcoding audits, payer policies, and compliance regulationsis a plus.
