What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Production Assistant position at Wayland Community Access and Media, Inc.?
WayCAM is the PEG Access provider for Wayland, MA. We are a very busy and exciting organization with a strong program base in all three areas: Public, Educational and Government. We’re looking for a special candidate, preferably with background in PEG or TV/Video production, to join our team starting as soon as possible.
Part-Time, 20-25 hours a week
Reports to Production Manager
Monday – Friday (3:30pm – 7:30pm; subject to change pending on shoot)
Weekends (a few times a year)
Hourly wage (TBD)
Job responsibilities.
*Production work: Overseeing and shooting programs in field as well as in-studio productions.
*Programs: Responsible for monthly production stats, making sure all programs have been edited and have proper credits; as well as being uploaded to our On-Demand site.
*Training: training community members, ranging from elementary school students to senior citizens on how to use the equipment in the facility.
*Equipment: responsible for signing in and out equipment, reporting any equipment damaged or missing and keeping the room organized.
*Communication skills: Answering emails, phone calls, making sure messages are reported back to the Production Manager or Executive Director. Outreach to Community Organizations to create programming for the studio.
*Social Media: Knowledge of posting content to Social Media platforms like Facebook and X, etc.
*Studio Systems: (Applicant familiar with these systems preferred but not required) Tricaster, Live-stream, Data-video, Anycast and robotic camera systems. The position will have training on all systems if not familiar with them.
Minimum high school diploma required; college degree preferred. Knowledge and experience in Public Access TV production is preferred. Experience with PC/MAC computer editing software programs (Premiere & Final Cut X) required. We’re looking for a competent multitasker, able to work well with high school students, adult volunteers, as well as independently. Applicant must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and have a car. Will be subject to CORI testing.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
