Position: Certified Flight Instructor
The Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) will train the next generation of pilots how to fly. The academy uses a standardized 141 academy approach to deliver consistent training to future airline pilots. The majority of the students enrolled are full-time with the goal of reaching Commercial Pilot Certification with 10-12 months. These means flying 5-6 days a week in beautiful South Florida. Earning a good living while building your flight experience towards a career with our airline partners Spirit, Silver, Republic and Skywest pathway programs.
Teach Private, Instrument, Commercial and Multi-engine students how to be safe, proficient aviators. Interact with pilots, maintenance personnel, and the aviation community to contribute to the company's aviation operations. The Academy is now also a nationally accredited college offering Associate Degree of Aeronautical Science. This give a lot of opportunity to give deeper ground and theoretical classes for students.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to industry safety standards & company safety protocols and procedures
- Train Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Multi-engine students to FAA 141 and Wayman standards
- Teach ground and flight training safely following SOP and TCO
- Work within a Team structure with team leaders, Chief Instructors, and a training department
- Performs administrative duties related to flight training
- Assist with, and /or, perform additional duties as required to facilitate aircraft operations
- Must be a Professional, clean, and organized individual with superior time management skills
Qualifications:
- FAACertified Flight Instructor & Instrument Instructor certification, CFI CFII required.
- Able to pass drug test, background check
- Have a FAA Class 1 Medical, Physically able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Able to work outside in the Hot and Wet Florida environment.
- Superior organization skills, professional appearance, multi-tasking, safety-focused
- Detail oriented with an aptitude for problem solving and good record keeping of performed activities
- Must be able to work flexible hours, shifts, and holidays
- Local South Florida residents & veterans preferred.

Wayman Aviation Academy is South Florida’s premier Part 141 flight school for international and local students. From their first hour of flight through Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor ratings, Wayman prepares students for careers in the airlines. The Academy is based at North Perry Airport and operates a fleet of more than 40 aircraft.
Wayman Aviation Academy partners with Florida Memorial University, Miami Dade College, Liberty University and the Greater Miami Aviation Association as well as 6 US and international airlines.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
