Position Requirements
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required, an associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is preferred. Three to five years of experience in facilities maintenance or related work is required. Must be able to communicate effectively, follow oral and written instructions, and work independently or in a team environment. Experience serving in a supervisory or team lead position is required. Must have considerable knowledge in areas of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry. Must have certification or licensure in one of the following areas: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, or similar discipline, or the ability to obtain certification/licensure within 24 months of employment. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints or architectural drawings. Candidates must have basic working knowledge of computers and associated software. A valid North Carolina Driver’s License and a driving record which allows applicant to be insurable under WCC’s auto insurance policy is required. Bilingual and National Career Readiness Certificate is preferred.
