What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing, RN position at Wayne Country View Care and Rehabilitation?
We are looking for an outgoing leader who wants to be part of a team as our Director of Nursing (DON) RN at Wayne Countryview Care and Rehabilitation! What we are looking for: a strong competent fearless individual who will work with their team to achieve high clinical standards through love and accountability. This individual will work side by side with our Director of Nursing In Training who oversees the entire clinical department. In this DON position you will not have to directly oversee any employees!
The right candidate will receive:
- SUPPORT: A strong department head team filled with leaders that are dedicated to making Wayne Countryview the best. The nursing leadership team consists of our Director of Nursing In Training and MDS Coordinator.
- STAFFING: The Director of Nursing will not oversee scheduling or staff and the on-call rotation is only 1 week per month! We have significatly cut our agency usage from $100,000 /month many months last year to <$30,000/month this year. We are working hard to fill our last open positions and be agency free!
- SURVEY: We have clinical systems in place and this is a great opportunity for someone wanting to jump in, build on a solid foundation, and lead a team to greatness.
- SISTER FACILITIES & REGIONAL GUIDEANCE: We also have support from Clinical Resources as well as additional support from fellow DON partners in our Nebraska market. We have a lot of resources and support available to make sure you succeed!
Duties:
- Oversee Staff Training, Annual Competencies & New Employee Clinical Orientation
- Makes rounds to verify clinical compliance including periodic spot checks of resident’s condition
- Coordinate clinical services to promote standard clinical interventions of resident care
- Takes corrective action in response to quality of service issues
- Review and follow-up on documentation for clinical compliance
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Nebraska (or compact state) RN license is required
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Long Term Care (LTC) is preferred
- Ability to create and maintain a helpful, understanding and empathetic atmosphere toward the residents and staff
- Ability to handle confidential information exercise independent judgment and make decisions based on good nursing practice guidelines
