TITLE : TIMS Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS : Position involves for the safe and efficient operation of the transportation program systems. Arranges transportation for assigned students to include special needs. Investigates and reports bus accidents. Work is performed under the general supervision of the TIMS District Supervisor with leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment. Supervisory experience and Associate Degree desired
REQUIREMENTS :
- Must have or be able to obtain a class B CDL with S & P endorsements.
- Must have good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motion.
- Must possess the visual acuity and physical dexterity to work with computer equipment and related peripherals.
- Must pass alcohol and drug tests as per DOT, FMCSA and local board regulations as required
REPORTS TO : Transportation Director
JOB GOAL : Develops and maintains bus routes using the Transportation Information Management System (TIMS). Work involves routinely coordinating with school administrators, dispatching of drivers / buses and ensuring that all school district buses are staffed with drivers, following established routes and prepared time schedules. Conducts transportation studies relating to school consolidation or for improving existing transportation services. Assist with hiring school bus drivers and verifies time / attendance for payroll. Assists Transportation Director with any specialized reporting request from state and local boards as assigned
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK :
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Appropriate North Carolina driver’s license for the weight and type of vehicles operated as required by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Must have or be able to obtain a class B commercial driver license with S & P endorsements.
Terms of Employment : 12-month work year / At Will Employee / FLSA Non-Exempt
Salary Grade : 64
