JOB TITLE : SCIENCE TEACHER
JOB SUMMARY : The teacher has the responsibility for using the Michigan Curriculum Frameworks, Standards and Benchmarks, and high school Content Expectations to teach daily lessons to students at the secondary level.
MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS :
- DI (Science) or EX (Mathematics) endorsement required; preference to those that hold both.
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate 6-12.
- Five years teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with students in groups and individually.
- Competency in using assessments as the basis for instruction.
- Ability to analyze and clearly communicate assessment results and learning plans, in written and oral form, to professionals and parents.
- Ability to cooperatively participate in Student Support Teams, team evaluation, and IEP's.
- Ability to complete and maintain required records, forms, and reports in a professional and timely manner.
- Ability to be flexible, to work independently, and to contribute as a member of a team.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, allocate time, and maintain schedule flexibility.
- Ability to use computer applications.
- Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate behavior plans for use in general and special education settings.
