DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Fiscal Technician, you will attend to a wide-range of responsibilities such as analyzing and interpreting accounting records and methods and inputting a variety of accounting transactions into the computer accounting program. You will also assist in the process to move to a new general ledger bookkeeping and computer application. This professional participates in the determination of division of the cost of overhead between cost centers, and is responsible for payroll processing and allocations, including salary and fringe.
Within this role, you will be responsible for monthly reconciliations as assigned, as well as monthly expense and revenue allocations. You will assist with preparations for agency audits and maintain departmental budget to expense spreadsheets. You will have the opportunity to prepare agency invoices and vouchers, and review for mathematical accuracy and accurate reflection of contracted amounts for services reimbursed. This includes importing files from the Commonwealth’s Se-Gov’s web site into the Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and Early Intervention. (EI) Tracker for payment processing. This professional codes expenses to cost centers in preparation of the weekly agency accounts payable process and assists the Fiscal Officer with the completion of quarterly and annual reports for Behavioral Health, Intellectual Disabilities and Early Intervention as necessary.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Fiscal Assistant;or
- Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
- One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, Susquehanna, and Wayne counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
