Description
Scope: Responsible for coordinating ongoing Facility related maintenance and repair services at various agency locations.
Essential Functions
- Ensure all agency, program specific and maintenance service related safety protocols are upheld in the performance of duties
- Coordinate and maintain agency daily building maintenance work, including scheduling additional services as needed.
- Monitor and maintain agency fleet vehicle user data (speed, GPS tracking, vehicle locations)
- Coordinate routine maintenance and repair of the agency’s fleet vehicles.
- Assist with coordinating and relocating building assets and equipment for renovation/repair work on new and existing agency facilities. This includes coordinating maintenance staff to support contractors, and quality control.
- Provide support to various program departments to ensure that the facilities are maintained and constructed to meet state licensing and/or program requirements as appropriate.
- Monitor independent contractors in the performance of building maintenance and/or repair. This includes but is not limited to; assisting with ensuring contractors are licensed, insured and granted appropriate access to complete work; maintaining quality control; and issuing final approval when work is completed. If necessary, recommend termination of work to supervisor if contractor or service is not meeting specifications.
- Coordinate with lease holder’s maintenance department to ensure that the agency’s leased space is maintained and repairs are made in a timely manner per work requests.
- Monitor and maintain Facility preventative maintenance schedule (boiler system, fire inspections, filters, etc.,)
- Input assigned purchase requisitions in accounting system.
- May be granted some supervisory roles in the absence of other Facility Team Supervisors
- Work collaboratively with Construction, Contracts & Services Coordinator
- Maintain a positive attitude towards assigned work, clients, and staff, and a willingness to work with others.
- Perform work in a professional manner that upholds Wayne Metro’s policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed inside and/or outside an office. The employee is frequently required to climb, bend, lift, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. Work exposed to a variety of weather conditions and outdoor elements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of six years of experience in a related field OR a combination of education and experience that is similarly equivalent.
Minimum Competencies:
- Working knowledge of internet applications and programs including Google technology and Microsoft Office Word and Excel. The ability to learn and utilize the necessary programs for this position.
- Knowledge of local building regulations and construction trades and state licensing requirements or the ability to access them.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Ability to effectively provide direction to assigned independent contractors.
- Ability to maintain documentation of work including file maintenance and report development.
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, building structure, plumbing, electrical and HVAC is preferred.
- Good interpersonal and professional skills including but not limited to professional appearance, tact, punctuality and dependability.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment (as deemed necessary).
- Perform work in a manner that upholds Wayne Metro policies and procedures.
Licensing and Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to travel to various sites.
Work Hours: Work to be scheduled Monday through Friday with specific hours to be determined by program needs.
