Job Summary
The Aircraft Captain is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, ensuring compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies. This role leads the flight crew and oversees all aspects of flight operations, including pre-flight preparation, in-flight management, and post-flight procedures. Reporting to the Chief Pilot or Director of Aviation, the Aircraft Captain serves as the pilot-in-command (PIC) and is accountable for ensuring the highest standards of safety, service, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Flight Operations : Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) for company flights, ensuring all operations are conducted in accordance with FAA regulations and company policies.
- Safety Management : Prioritize safety by conducting thorough pre-flight and post-flight inspections, managing in-flight safety procedures, and adhering to the Safety Management System (SMS).
- Crew Leadership : Lead the flight crew, delegating duties and ensuring effective communication and coordination with the co-pilot (First Officer) and cabin crew.
- Flight Planning : Review weather conditions, flight plans, fuel requirements, and air traffic control (ATC) instructions to ensure safe and efficient flights.
- Decision-Making : Make critical decisions during flights, including route adjustments, diversions, and emergency procedures.
- Regulatory Compliance : Maintain compliance with all FAA regulations, company operations manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Communication : Coordinate with air traffic control, ground operations, and dispatch to ensure efficient flight operations.
- Passenger Service : Ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
- Record-Keeping : Maintain accurate records of flight times, aircraft performance, and any incidents, ensuring documentation is completed promptly.
- Training & Development : Participate in recurrent training, simulator sessions, and safety drills to maintain certifications and proficiency.
