Job Summary
The Sales Performance Analyst plays a crucial role in empowering the sales team through insightful, data-driven analysis. By executing key models and tracking market trends, this role is instrumental in optimizing sales strategies and enhancing overall performance. The Sales Performance Analyst will also provide essential backup to the Internal Sales Manager and contribute significantly to the preparation for both customer and quarterly sales reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Model Management :
- Run Financial Models : Utilize and interpret financial models to deliver actionable insights and trend analyses that drive the sales team.
- Track Financial Trends : Monitor and report on financial trends regularly, ensuring sales strategies reflect current market data.
- Margin Percent Modeling : Collaborate with colleagues to develop and update margin percentage models for accurate forecasting.
- Sales Planning and Pricing Review :
- AD Planner Control : Manage the AD planner to ensure alignment with strategic sales objectives.
- Pricing Review : Conduct regular pricing assessments and provide recommendations to ensure competitiveness and profitability based on market analysis.
- Backup for Internal Sales Manager : Act as a vital support resource for the Internal Sales Manager, managing important sales tasks as necessary.
- Customer and Quarterly Sales Reviews :
- Presentation Preparation : Develop and update PowerPoint presentations for customer reviews to include key metrics, trends, and performance insights.
- Quarterly Financial Review : Work alongside the retail sales team to prepare compelling presentations of quarterly financial insights.
- Bid and Account Management :
- Bid Economics and Modeling : Facilitate bid modeling, assisting sales in crafting competitive proposals through precise cost and margin calculations.
- Online Portal Submissions : Oversee submissions for significant bids through online portals, ensuring accuracy and timely compliance.
- Freight and Cost Management :
- Freight Rate Tracking : Observe and report freight rates and truck weights by lane, aiming to optimize freight utilization and accurately reflect costs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education
Experience
1-3 years of experience in data analysis, sales analysis, or financial analysis roles preferred, with additional knowledge of freight management and cost accounting being a plus.
Work Environment
