The Quality Technician position at Wayne Wire is a key part of our Quality Department. This role plays a critical role in ensuring customer requirements are met through the First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/FAI) and supporting quality processes to maintain excellence in our custom filtration products!

Overview:
Wayne Wire Cloth Products, Inc., an industry leader in the manufacture of custom filtration products for the aerospace, automotive, and commercial industries, seeks a dedicated Quality Technician to support the Quality Department.
The Quality Technician will generate and manage AS9102 FAIRs, validate engineering drawings, measure production parts, and assist in quality assurance tasks across our 3 manufacturing locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Generate AS9102 Forms to support customer approval requirements.
- Measure production parts using tools like micrometers, calipers, indicators, and go/no-go gages to ensure compliance with standards.
- Track approval submission progress, including submission and approval dates, and update inspection reports post-approval.
- Review supplier-submitted FAIRs contributing to company submissions.
- Perform additional quality-related tasks, such as non-inspection work, and assist in production departments as needed.
- Train others as required and support various quality assurance projects assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field, or 6 months to 1 year of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, pin gauges, comparators, height gauges, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and interpret technical documents and write routine reports.
- Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); familiarity with statistical methods is a plus.
- Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Application Xtender; willingness to learn software like Net-Inspect.
- Basic understanding of AS9100 Quality Management Systems (certification preferred).
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally stand, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; frequently walk and sit; regularly talk or hear.
- Lift up to 10 pounds occasionally.
- Pass an annual eye exam meeting vision standards for precision inspection in aerospace manufacturing.
Work Environment:
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and frequent work near moving mechanical parts.
- Moderate noise levels (e.g., business office with computers or light traffic).
