Laboratory Technician

Headquartered in Memphis, TN and with 14 full-service agriculture and environmental laboratories throughout the U.S., Waypoint Analytical has established its reputation as a reliable and timely provider of agricultural and environmental test data.

The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for supporting the laboratory by following methodologies, performing analysis, and interpreting data from samples.

Potential responsibilities include:

· Preparing and analyzing samples for a wide variety of testing procedures

· Follow the outlined methodologies and Standard Operating Procedures for the tests to which you have been assigned

· Learn to operate and maintain scientific equipment/instrumentation

· Document activities and report results in a concise and accurate manner

· Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of laboratory equipment and areas

· Assist group leaders and analysts in ordering and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation

Some of the additional traits our candidate would need to possess include:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· A four year college degree in a related field is preferred but not required

· 1-3 years of previous experience working in an environmental laboratory is preferred

· Knowledge of analytical method, instruments, general lab practices, and lab safety

· Exceptional time management and communication skills required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
