The Child/Adolescent BCBA will work within the DESE/DDS Program to support the implementation and oversight of behavior plans for children, adolescents, and young adults ages 6-22 who are at-risk of residential placement. The DESE/DDS Program is administered in partnership with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). The Child/Adolescent BCBA will work with Service Navigators and Skills Teachers to ensure individuals enrolled in the program receive high-quality behavioral/skills training that promotes safety skill-building, independence, and community participation.
SCHEDULE FOR THIS POSITION: 20 hours/week, schedule will vary based upon needs of the families but must include availability for late afternoons and evenings
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement behavior plans with defined short- and long-term goals, collaborating closely with DESE/DDS Program Service Navigators, master's-level behaviorists, skills teachers, and families to ensure effective support and intervention.
- Supervisor and evaluate home-based skills teachers in the implementation of behavior plans and working collaboratively with master's-level behaviorists through in-person meetings, virtual sessions, and phone consultations to ensure effective implementation
- Travel within the region (Merrimack Valley, Lowell, Northshore, Central Middlesex and Metro North) as required.
- Collect and analyze data to monitor progress to evaluate and inform intervention efficiency and adjust if needed.
- Prepare and deliver progress reports semi-annually, annually, or as requested by the VP of Children and Families and/or Clinical Director, while conducting quarterly meetings with assigned DESE/DDS familiesboth in person and virtuallywith additional meetings as needed.
- Supervise and evaluate master's-level behaviorists in the BCBA program overseeing their DESE/DDS-related clinical hours.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster strong relationships with families, providers, and other stakeholders ensuring consistency and continuity of care for clients.
- Provide training and clinical case consultation for Children and Families staff as requested/appropriate.
- Perform other duties as agreed upon with the VP of Children and Families and Clinical Director.
Requirements:
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and Masters degree required.
- Experience working with children/adolescents/adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral challenges in home and school-based settings.
- Proven ability to design and implement effective behavior intervention plans for parents and children/adolescents
- Experience supervising Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), skills trainers/teachers, and/or behavior technicians
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Availability for after-school and evening hours.
- Valid drivers license in good standing with a minimum of 1 year driving experience.
