Purchasing Manager

WBW Development is currently looking for a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing Manager/Estimator. The right candidates will report to the COO and work with the Construction team to oversee purchasing operations including managing vendor relationships and budgeting/estimating. We do not do any external bids. This company solely focuses on in-house projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Develop detailed budgets and specific territory budget templates
• Track Cost to Complete and assist in getting back on budget if there are variances
• Work with VP of Construction to assist on project management, quality assurance, and reviewing schedules for production.
• Train field personnel in material management, cost override controls, negotiations, and dispute resolution.
• Enhance the processes for the Purchasing/Estimating department
• Oversee all purchasing, and departmental reporting
• Manage current vendor relationships, and create new vendor relationships
• Negotiate best deals possible
• Consult with Developers, Engineers, and Project Managers on project plan review
• Track, code and oversee distribution of all field purchasing
• Anticipate and address issues to keep projects moving on time and on budget
• Pitch new and creative ideas to COO and Owner to create departmental efficiencies
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner
• Able to travel on a weekly basis to identify project status, progress and risk-management and track status in our project management software

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Expertise in civil or new home construction
• Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid and Heavy Job
• Familiarity with Central Texas vendors and building
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Minimum of 5 years of purchasing/estimating experience in the field
• OSHA 10/30
• Desire to actively work to build and grow an existing successful company by implementing processes, and creating a department that runs efficiently
