WCF is an A Rated insurance carrier that is growing in the western U.S. and is looking for an applicant that wants to join a company with a great culture, competitive pay, and outstanding benefits. The product team specifically works on commercial insurance lines such as property, liability, and umbrella and has an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a full-time Senior Product Development Manager, reporting to the Director, Product Development. This posting is open to internal and external candidates. The person in this position works out of WCF's Sandy, Utah headquarters or one of the regional offices located in Roseville, CA; Boise, ID; or Denver, CO. Hybrid (office/home) or remote option is available.
Responsibilities
- Establish product line (commercial line insurance BOP and umbrella) strategy in collaboration with those responsible for complimentary lines of business.
- Direct implementation of product (commercial line insurance BOP and umbrella) enhancements including rating algorithm, policy language, back-end system, and front-end system changes.
- Serve as a product line (commercial line insurance BOP and umbrella) expert, maintain a thorough knowledge of product features and benefits, and provide product expertise to various internal and external audiences.
- Conduct research and analysis on legal issues, competitor products, market needs, and emerging issues to ensure competitiveness and legal compliance.
- Lead product analysts and managers aiming for high morale and technical competency.
- Manage rate, form, rule regulatory filings and maintain good working relationships with regulators.
- Communicate product changes to other departments and assist with product training.
- Design and maintain procedure and product documentation.
- Coordinate or provide guidance on the quality assurance and process improvement efforts.
- Prepare/present various reports/publication over product features and issues.
- Create and maintain strong, positive working relationships with other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree and/or CPCU designation preferred.
- At least six years of commercial line insurance (property, liability, and umbrella) product (such as product management, product development, or underwriting) experience.
- Deep understanding of commercial property and liability coverage forms, endorsements, manuals, and pricing structures.
- Ability to comprehend, draft, and communicate intent of contract language as well as interpret inter-relationships of coverages across contracts.
- Ability to comprehend, create and communicate intent of insurance rating algorithms and other pricing structures.
- Experience with rate, form, rule regulatory filings.
- Outstanding presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Three years or more of supervisory or people management experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Works well under deadlines in a changing environment with capability to perform multiple tasks effectively.
WCF Insurance offers an extensive compensation package. Benefits include Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, company paid life insurance, 401K with a generous 6% employer match and additional benefits such as an Employee Assistance Program and time off to volunteer. All employees earn 4 weeks of vacation their first year. Pay range for a senior level position is $98,000 -$140,000. Ability to also hire at a product development manager instead of a senior level. Salary range f0r this level is $87,000 - $120,000 depending on location, education, and experience.
An internal candidate should have six months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they've applied for the position.
