Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accounting and Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various HR administrative functions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and fostering a positive workplace culture. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and practices, as well as the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Responsibilities
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Issues stop-payments or purchase order amendments.
- Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances; preparing checks.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Maintains historical records by microfilming and filing documents.
- Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation.
- Reports sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in payroll processing and maintain accurate records related to accounts payable.
- Support financial auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and reports.
- Stay updated on changes in employment law and best practices in human resources.
- Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Education and Experience
Required:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
- Previous accounts payable experience preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Accounting & HR Generalist or similar role is advantageous.
- Strong financial acumen with knowledge of financial concepts such as debits, credits, tax regulations, corporate finance, and technical accounting principles.
- Familiarity with wills, trusts, estate law, and financial statement preparation is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in HR software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Language Abilities
Must have a strong understanding of English to follow instructions and communicate with staff and guests. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.
