Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage daily operations on commercial construction sites. The ideal candidate will ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest industry standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of commercial construction processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all stages of commercial construction projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and site personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and adherence to project specifications.
- Communicate project updates to stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and project managers.
- Proactively resolve issues that may arise, including site conflicts, unexpected conditions, or scheduling delays.
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are obtained and maintained.
- Manage project resources, including ordering and tracking materials, tools, and equipment.
- Train and mentor construction personnel to maintain a highly skilled and efficient workforce.
- Document project milestones, change orders, and any deviations from the original plans.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction supervision or management.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction procedures, building codes, and OSHA guidelines.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and commercial construction documents.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication abilities to effectively coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience with construction management software is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
