Position Summary :
The Dining Services Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with residents’ dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional guidelines. This role requires attention to detail, creativity, and a commitment to food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and cook meals and snacks following approved menus and recipes while adhering to dietary restrictions and resident preferences.
- Ensure proper portion control, food presentation, and timely meal service.
- Monitor food inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and reduce waste.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to accommodate special dietary needs, such as allergies, texture modifications, or physician-prescribed diets.
- Assist with meal planning and suggest ideas for menu improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.
