Land Surveyor
Responsibilities
- Manage land survey projects for the entire project cycle while maintaining client contact
- Produce survey-related projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Mentor, train and oversee the work of field staff
- Prepare calculations and project preparation for field crews
- Schedule field work
- Produce and implement survey field standards and quality control
- Recommend field equipment purchases and upgrades for the department
- Check field work to verify completeness and accuracy
- On site assistance on field survey projects as a supervisor
- Assist with recruiting and evaluating new hires
- Communicate with Leadership and Project Managers on constant basis
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in land development (commercial, industrial, single-family, etc.) and municipal development projects
- Must possess the Registered Land Surveyor licensure in Illinois or ability to obtain within 3 months
- Advanced knowledge of survey field procedures
- Advanced knowledge of survey equipment and software
- Ability to evaluate field data and perform survey calculations in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Ability to oversee and manage a team of field survey staff
- Verbal skills and organizational ability to communicate with project managers and staff
- Time management skills
- The position offers a competitive salary range of $90,000-$140,000, commensurate with experience
