Join our Kitchen team today! We are looking for someone to prep our grab and go case as well as our homemade market favorites. With the supervision of the deli manager, the individual will manage the product and personnel of the kitchen with the end goal of a profitable, organized kitchen. Individual will train new staff and provide continued supervision, ensuring that department staff provide friendly and efficient service and are in alignment with overall market goals.
Minimum Qualifications

Primary responsibilities:
- Manage product storage, maintenance and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages.
- Maintain inventory and submit for ordering
- Communicate product and packaging needs to both Deli and Materials Purchasing Managers
- Ensure that products are properly labeled with prices and dates.
- Monitor and maintain stock inventory levels to avoid over and under stock problems.
- Receive, unload and stock food items.
- Operate all food preparation machines and equipment.
- Create new displays or rearrange existing displays for incoming product or those in need of a “facelift”
- Ensure that facility is maintained neat, clean and safe.
- Assist in leading the kitchen staff – delegation of responsibilities, training new kitchen staff
- Respond to queries and complaints from both customer and employee.
- Interact politely with clients while solving problems related to sales, dissatisfied service and issues regarding store operation.
- Adhere to and enforce food safety standards for all kitchen staff
- Participate in analyzing sales reports with Deli and Market manager and recommend improvements to meet department goals.

Physical requirements:
This position will require a relatively high energy level and a high degree of mobility. Long periods of walking and standing are required for the duration of the shift. The job requires the lifting, carrying, and adjusting of containers weighing up to 40 pounds. (Weaver’s Orchard will make reasonable accommodations as required by ADA)
Physical appearance:
Due to the nature of this position, and the image we wish to convey, we require conservative, neat/ clean attire, in keeping with a professional image. Any other requirements will be found in the Employee Handbook.
Structure:
This position is categorized as Part to Full time. Weekly hours in summer and fall range from 35 to 40, winter/spring hours range from 25-30. The individual must be dependable and reliable. Must be available to work 4 days per week at minimum. Shifts are between 5 and 6 hours and times are flexible but must start by 9am. The kitchen lead is expected to work at least 2 out of 4 Saturdays a month during the summer and fall seasons. Hours can be reduced during the winter season.
