Job Summary
This position is responsible for the entry of new cases into the case management system.
Major Duties
- Receives and processes new cases from the county jail on a daily basis.
- Enters case information into the case management system software.
- Processes electronic and hard copy files.
- Reviews edit sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Delivers files to attorneys.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
- Skill in the use of modern office equipment.
- Skill in the provision of customer services.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must have a minimum of one ( 1 ) year of general work experience.
- Must be able to type 30 wpm.

Complexity/Scope of Work
- The work consists of related receptionist and customer service duties. Frequent interruptions contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to provide customer service and clerical support for office operations. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
Occasionally
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Moving to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
- Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
- Light work that includes carrying objects up to 20 pounds.
- Medium work that includes carrying objects up to 50 pounds.

Other Requirements/Information
- Must possess a valid and current Texas driver's license.
- Drug and Alcohol Policy applies to this job. Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and criminal background checks are required.
- This position is not covered under Civil Service; however, all other Webb County policies apply.
